Hippotherapy is performed by occupational therapists, physical therapists, or speech pathologists. These professionals take a prescribed treatment plan and use the horse’s movement to facilitate the therapy. During hippotherapy participants may ride in many unusual positions such as on their hands and knees, sideways, backwards, and standing!
